CWA Denmark Background
Denmark branch wa s established over 76 years ago and has been serving the community eversince.
MEETINGS: Held at the CWA Hall 9 Mitchell Street, Denmark.
General Meetings are held at 10.30am on first Wednesday of each month and is usually followed by a BYO lunch, before hosting a guest speaker, or sharing various activities.
Craft meetings are held at 10am to noon on third Wednesday of each month, with members joining in group craft projects, learning different crafts, or bringing along their own. Every September several branches from the Lower Southern area join in a competitive Craft Exhibition. There is also a Home, farm and garden section for those interested.
Members also hold events such as Soup Days in winter, a stall at the Christmas Fest and various fundraising events throughout the year. We also join together with other branches for social outings, international days and trips to places of interest.
Hall hire, at reasonable costs, is another benefit to the community and we are currently in the process of upgrading our facilities. Thanks to support from the Shire, we are now able to replace our main front windows with ones which won’t leak and are able to be opened!
The Annual State Conference this year resulted in adoption of a revised constitution to meet new legal requirements, as well as a Strategic Plan which will ensure that the State Association moves forward more effectively.
Our branch would love to be able to welcome new members from the younger generation, to carry on such great traditions and inspire new projects relevant to today’s communities.
